Superior Print Materials
While the investment in my photographic prints may seem substantial, they represent far more than a simple click of the shutter. Each wilderness image emerges from days spent immersed in remote landscapes – hiking with heavy gear, waiting for perfect light, and often returning multiple times to capture a scene in ideal conditions.
I partner with master printmakers who bring decades of expertise to the reproduction process, using state-of-the-art equipment and archival-quality materials that ensure your print will maintain its vibrancy for generations. Whether you invest in one of the smaller print options, or fill a conference room wall with a 20ft print, when you display one of my photographs, you're not just looking at a picture – you're experiencing the scene as if you were standing there yourself, witnessing nature's grandeur through the lens of both artistic vision and uncompromising craftsmanship.
Fujiflex Film
With Or Without Trulife© Acrylic Facing
I chose Fujiflex silver-halide digital photographic film for this method of display because it brings out superb detail, lifelike colors, incredible depth, and clarity.
You can either purchase prints in the film for your own framing choices, or select Museum Quality acrylic coating to protect your asset.
TruLife® ⅛”acrylic virtually eliminates reflection, blocks up to 99% of UV rays, and its anti-static properties repel dust on the viewing side. It cleans just like glass.
The photographic film is encapsulated between the acrylic , and an ⅛” aluminum DIBOND® backing. This commercial-rated, triple-layered composite material ensures stability and adds protection to your print, all while maintaining a low weight.
Ideal for Pro Level, gallery quality presentations.
ChromaLuxe® Aluminum
ChromaLuxe® aluminum panels are lightweight, durable, made with recycled material and 100% recyclable. The 3D depth of the image provided by this substrate is fade resistant and delivers exceptional detail and color resolution.
Wilhelm Imaging Research, the world’s leading authority on print permanence, carried out extensive testing on ChromaLuxe® metal panels. Results of the testing determined that ChromaLuxe® metal prints will last more than three times longer than silver-halide photographic paper prints that have been framed under glass.
There are two finishes available:
Gloss: for locations with little or no exposure to reflected light.
Semi-gloss: for reduced glare where reflection is likely to be an issue. The reduction in clarity and vibrance between the gloss and semi-gloss finish is almost imperceivable.
Technicals: ChromaLuxe® Fujiflex TruLife® DIBOND®
Aspect Ratios
When selecting a piece of Art, you usually (but not aways) have a place in mind for it in your home or workplace. Whether the piece is being used to create balance or establish a theme, scale and dimension are almost as important as the piece itself. The aspect ratio (crop dimensions) of a photograph or painting can make or break the ambience of a space, and getting the dimensions wrong can under or overwhelm. So it’s worth spending some time understanding image shapes and sizes before placing your order.
There are industry common print sizes that I would recommend you lean towards. However, all of my pieces can be produced in exactly the size you want to the extent that the resolution will allow.
If you’re uncertain about which size is right for your space, my advice is to take blue painter’s tape, and mark out the size and shape that you think is right on your wall. Leave the tape on the wall for a few days and adjust it until you’re confident. Better still, email me an image of your space, and I’ll overlay my artwork for you to see how it looks.
