Cancer Care Hub
Mission
We aim to shed light on the critical needs of cancer patients and their caregivers, advocating for a more holistic, compassionate approach to treatment that recognizes the entire human experience of living with cancer.
Together, we can use technology and community to offer global resources, start conversations, share inspirational stories, challenge existing systems, and create a meaningful support network that acknowledges the full spectrum of challenges faced by those touched by cancer - including ways to have fun.
Personal journey and motivation
As a cancer patient, I’ve faced the healthcare system’s gaps in clinical and mental health support - a physical, emotional, and psychological battle. I founded the Hub to drive reform.
Identifying the Critical Gap
Conversations with other cancer patients, nurses, doctors and caregivers highlighted a gap: no central hub exists for cancer information or secure Web 2 connections across 200+ cancer types.
Founding the Hub
In March 2024, I founded the Cancer Care Hub after five years of research, and running Twitter spaces that explored the urgent requirements of the cancer community. My focus crystallized around critical needs: mental health support, resources for identifying early warning signs, screening processes, group chat platforms, and addressing basic needs for those who slip through the cracks in the healthcare system.
Meeting Minutes
Prior to launching the Hub, I held a series of Twitter spaces to identify the key issues among other cancer patients. Mental health was the area requiring the most attention, and should be considered a high priority.
Detailed minutes from early Twitter Spaces can be found on the Tezos blockchain in PDF format here.
Celebrating Patient Resilience
In my journey through the social media landscape of cancer support, I've encountered extraordinary warriors whose challenges would seem insurmountable to most. Their strength, resilience, and unwavering positivity inspire me daily. I am committed to shining a spotlight on their individual journeys, the innovative workarounds they've developed, and the profound role of purpose in their daily lives. You can read some of their stories under the Warrior tab of the Cancer Care Hub’s dropdown menu.
Navigating Social Media Challenges
Social media connects patients but X Spaces expose users to toxicity, eroding trust and increasing anxiety. We’ll launch a Facebook group in Summer 2025 as a Web 2 portal for accessibility, targeting the cancer community’s older demographic who often connect with their families through this platform.
Platform and Future Development
For the time being, this website and the Tezos blockchain will serve as a repository for updates and resources.
Leveraging Technology for Healthcare Transformation
Our mission centers on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize cancer care and mental health support. AI and VR technologies offer unprecedented opportunities to reduce emotional and physical trauma.
Clinical studies have demonstrated their remarkable potential in patient rehabilitation. (citation)
I believe the technology has potential to reduce opioid consumption, and dependency. Such an outcome would be revolutionary for patients and society. For the pharmaceutical industry, not so much. My research thus far leads me to believe there may also be potential for Alzheimer’s treatment - and with any luck dementia. More information will be posted on the Hub as I discover it.

Acknowledgments
A heartfelt thank you to all the inspirational cancer warriors I’ve met, the caregivers and brilliantly compassionate and careful nursing teams at Virginia G Piper Cancer Center, and Arizona Oncology for their ongoing kindness and support, to the neighbors who cooked me meals and helped take out the trash, and to a few special friends who have helped keep me alive.
Extra special thanks to Andrea, @tfw_nft, founder of Tutti Frutti Women, for her guidance in identifying key issues, for shining a light on my myeloma battle, and for personal support during an elevated time of crisis. I remain proud to have received the first Warrior Award from her initiative.
If you’d like to be part of this initiative, or have a warrior or caregiver you’d like to shine a light on, please fill in this form.
